OUR SERVICES

Complete Movement Restoration (CMR)

WE TAKE CARE OF YOUR CLOCK:
This is the most common service we perform when we repair a mechanical clock.  A CMR consists of a complete disassembly of the mechanical movement.  It is then cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner.  After this, it is then partially reassembled and inspected for any wear.  The worn bushing holes are located and a new bushing is installed to correct for wear.  All of the gear pivots are examined under a magnifying glass for any defects.  If a defect is discovered, it will be corrected, and then all pivots are polished on a lathe.  All mainsprings are unwound and stretched out, degreased and inspected.  If they do not have any defects, then new high quality high pressure grease is applied and they are wound back up.  The mechanical movement is then reassembled for the final time.

HOW WE TEST:
After the final assembly, all points that require oil are oiled with high quality oil specific toclocks.  The movement is synchronized to get the chimes to work properly.  The movement is then set to run on a test stand still outside of its case.  The movement is run like this for a few days.  Once it is determined that the movement is in working the way it is meant to be, it is then placed back into its original case.

FINAL CLOCK CLEANING:
Before the movement is put into its case, the case is given a good cleaning without doing anything detrimental to the case.

PUT BACK TOGETHER AND TESTED FOR ACCURATE TIME:
After the movement and the case are back together the clock once again goes back into a test run where it is watched closely and regulated.  A minimum for this is one clock winding which generally is one week.  After it has run a week without any issues and it is keeping accurate time, the customer will be notified that their timepiece is ready to be picked up.

TWO-YEAR WARRANTY FOR PARTS AND LABOR:
The above repair takes the mechanical clock movement back to its original condition.  Because of this, we will stand behind our work with a standard 2 year warranty.  This warranty will cover parts and labor.
